JAKARTA – The Indonesian Ministry of Defense once again held the largest international defense exhibition in Southeast Asia, the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum under the theme of “Peace, Prosperity, Strong”. For the first time, the DEFEND ID participated in the exhibition that will be held at JI Expo Kemayoran Jakarta from 2 to 5 November 2022.
Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto on October 21, 2022 at Bhineka Tunggal Ika Hall of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Jakarta took a special occasion to give directions to the leaders of the domestic defense industry in preparation for participation in the exhibition. This meeting was also attended by the leaders of Holding DEFEND ID, which consisted of PT Len Industri (Persero) as the holding company, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT PAL Indonesia, PT Pindad and PT DAHANA.
According to the Director of Business and Cooperation of PT Len Industri (Persero) Wahyu Sofiadi, for the first time following the inauguration by President Joko Widodo on April 22, the Defense Industry SOEs Holding DEFEND ID will be present at the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum exhibition.
“This international exhibition is of course very important, in addition to serving as a showcase of domestic defense technology capabilities, it is also a momentum to establish cooperation with defense strategic partners,” said Mr Sofiadi.
Meanwhile, Director of Technology & Development of PT DAHANA as well as Chief Executive of the DEFEND ID Exhibition Suhendra Yusuf RPN said that the DEFEND ID Pavilion will later be in Hall A-279 of JI Kemayoran.
“Apart from displaying defense products, the exhibition will also carry out several other agendas such as signing of a courtesy call cooperation contract, and DEFEND ID Talk. In addition, there will be product demos from Pindad and Dirgantara Indonesia at Pondok Duyung and Halim Perdana Kusumah,” explained Mr Yusuf.
Mr Yusuf added that the signing of the contract between DEFEND ID and partners is planned to be witnessed by President Jokowi and several of his ministers on the opening day of the exhibition on November 2, 2022 at the Sharing Area of the DEFEND ID Pavilion. Besides, the committee will also hold a meeting of DEFEND ID company leaders with banks, especially HIMBARA with regards to potential opportunities for investment cooperation in DEFEND ID.
Various defense products manufactured by DEFEND ID will be displayed in this exhibition. Len Industri which will display radar, intercom, E-Tactical Bike to Combat Management System; PT Dirgantara Indonesia will exhibit the N219 Amphibious aircraft and various other types of aircraft produced in Bandung, including the CN235-220, NC212i, UAV MALE “Elang Hitam”, as well as collaboration products for helicopters and KFX/IFX fighter aircraft; PTDI will also present N219 and CN235 FTB aircraft in the static display area at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
Meanwhile, the marine dimension represented by PT PAL Indonesia will display various types of warships, ranging from LPD 163M, new generation KCR, Hospital Ships, Missile Escort Destroyer, Frigates, to Autonomous Submarines. From the ground side, PT Pindad will present a variety of weapons & munitions products ranging from the SS2-V5 A1, SS Amphibious to the “Pasupati” weapon simulator. PT Pindad also presented various combat vehicles, namely Tiger Medium Tanks, 6×6 Rhinos to Maung tactical vehicles which can be demonstrated directly in the outdoor area.
And finally, PT DAHANA comes with a variety of energetic material products such as rockets and launch vehicles, fighter bombs, counter-tank weapons, Manpads, to a smart drone called RAJATA.
Up to now, DEFEND ID continues to make various innovations and collaborations in support to support the independence of the national Main Weapon System (Alutsista), contribute to increasing the value of the Domestic Content Level, serves as a major player in the supply chain of the world defense industry, and becomes a Top Global 50 Defense Company.
