The era of competition has metamorphosed into an era of collaboration. This phenomenon applies both internally and externally to the company; internally as it no longer prioritizes on competition among divisions or departments, rather a collaboration to support each other’s main targets and externally as competitors become partners to move forward together. One element of successful collaboration is good communication.

The theme of this collaboration was the main topic of PT DAHANA (Persero)’s 2020 Work Plan Meeting under the theme of “Stronger with collaboration”. The meeting, which was attended by all directors to manager-level officials in Dahana, was held on February 13-14, 2020 in Bandung.

President Director of PT DAHANA (Persero) Budi Antono emphasized that DAHANA is a future company. “Dahana continues to change to create a future company that brings benefits to the employees, shareholders and stakeholders,” said Budi Antono (6/14).

Budi pointed out that strategies that accentuate competitive advantage, create differentiation and fight for market share have caused a considerable damage to each other. Therefore, collaboration is the right choice of corporate strategy today.

Serving as a state-owned company engaged in the explosives business, PT DAHANA (Persero) currently has two main markets: commercial and military explosives. The commercial explosives market includes the general mining, quarry and construction sectors, as well as oil and gas. Tight competition occurs within the general mining sector in which DAHANA faces competitors from both global and domestic explosives companies.

Such intense competition provides DAHANA with its own blessings. This was acknowledged by Bambang Agung, Director of Operations of PT DAHANA (Persero), as Dahana is increasingly innovating and always keeps improving service standards for consumers.

“We have an Energetic Material Center that allows the company to give more flexible service in response to the needs of consumers, in addition to the proven reliability of services in the field,” said Bambang Agung.

One of DAHANA’s new products is Dawagel. Dawagel is a brand name of Dahana’s products for watergel explosives that com in the form of bulk explosives. Currently Dawagel has been consumed by the biggest Cement Industry in South Sulawesi. For application, Dawagel Products use Dahana’s Mobile Manufacturing Truck (MMT) which is capable of producing Bulk Explosives, Dabex, Dawagel and Anfo explosives.

“Dawagel products have the advantage of replacing Anfo with densities below Anfo and with VOD over Anfo. This type of explosives are also very suitable for the type of mine characterized with hollow rocks in the cement industry,” said Bambang Agung.

In 2020, the company launched Dawagel into general mining. “There have been many mining companies ready to use this Dawagel product. We will prepare our best for customer satisfaction, “said Bambang Agung.

Meanwhile, in the field of Technology and Development, according to the Director of Technology and Development of PT DAHANA (Persero), Wildan Widarman, the Company has developed a program to add several production facilities to encourage the expansion of the explosives business.

“Dahana will continue to increase its capacity in the explosives industry by improving its technology,” said Wildan Widarman.

Another thing that was a concern at the 2020 Work Plan Meeting was communication. This was reviewed by the Director of Finance & HR Asmorohadi.

“Communication plays an important role to aloe organizational operations to run effectively and efficiently,” said Asmorohadi.
