PT DAHANA held a call to commemorate the OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) Month. The call was was the beginning of a whole series of OHS month commemorations at the explosives company. DAHANA’s President Director, Wildan Widarman, directly led the ceremony which was held at DAHANA’s Bale, in Subang, on Friday, January 13, 2023.

In his remarks, Mr Widarman said that PT DAHANA as an industry engaged in explosives with high risk (extreme risk) is very aware of the importance of OHS culture. Therefore, to increase OHS cultural awareness, it is necessary for to organize OHS month commemorations involving various parties.

“The OHS month commemoration is given consistently every year from January 12 to February 12 in hoping of increasing worker awareness and reducing the number of accidents in the Company,” said Mr Widarman.

Mr Widarman added that organizations or companies are obliged to provide protection to workers as  stated in the Labor Act number 1 of 1970, an therefore, by virtue of such regulation, the management of the organization or company has demands and even OHS responsibilities for their workers.

The event was held solemnly, starting at 07.30. DAHANA employees from various units attended the rally and listened to the President Director’s instructions on how important it is to form a culture with an OHS character. The call was also accompanied by the hit of sirens as a sign of the inauguration of the opening of the OHS month.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the 2023 OSH Month Commemoration Committee, Danny Armeidian said that he has provided various activities such as OHS month opening ceremony, healthy worker exercise, OHS Run, Accident Investigation Competition, Rescue & Fire Fighting Competition, OHS quiz competition, 3 on 3 basketball competition, OHS poster competition, OHS photography competition, talk show, Best Safety Performance Award, Selection of the best site, Compliance with the use of PPE, Launching of RFID Access, and Exhibition.

“It is my hope that with the OHS month commemoration this time we can all be more aware of OHS, and this OHS month commemoration can also be a momentum for all of us, especially in achieving the OHS performance target this year, namely in reducing the number of accidents & Lost Time Injury,” said the OHSE Assistant Manager.
