President Director of PT DAHANA (Persero) Budi Antono attended the 2021 Defense Industry SOEs Meeting agenda with Deputy Minister of SOEs I, Pahala Nugraha Mansury and Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra and Defense Industry’s directors. This meeting was held at PT Len Industri (Persero) Bandung on Friday, March 5, 2021.

The meeting was carrying the theme “Realizing Indonesia’s Defense Independence and Increasing Operational Excellence through the Consolidation of SOEs Defense Industry.” Herindra hoped that all of Defense Industry SOEs can collaborate, synergize, and sacrifice for the mutual interest and advancement of the national defense industry.

“We have been in times when we had nothing, subjected to an embargo and the fact how weak our defenses were. Luckily there was no war.  But we would not remain what we were. We have to grow strong, we have to be independent. I hope that we can also be part of the global supply chain and of course innovation as I see that defense equipment continues to grow, and the most important thing is the economy. A strong industry will certainly be able to drive the economy,” said Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra.

Meanwhile, according to the Deputy Minister for SOEs I, Indonesia’s defense industry, which is owned by the state is remarkably large holding. However, there is still a lot of homework for the SOEs defense industry to achieve the target of the Top 50 in the world defense industry, as stated in the vision and roadmap for the Defense Industry SOEs.

“It is the right moment for us to get together here. We have the plan to make the defense industry a very strategic industry. We are carrying out the president’s vision of how Indonesia can truly have resilience in this sector,” Mansury said.

In addition to the 2020-2024 holding strategy roadmap, the working meeting also discussed the  defense industry SOEs master plan, as well as curating operational models following the formation of the holding. To achieve the collaboration and synergy of defense industry SOEs. all members of the Board of Directors are asked to submit a draft roadmap in the fields of business, technology and industrial development.

The meeting which took place in an orderly manner was also attended by Ministry of SOE’s Assistant Deputy for Manufacturing & Defense Industry Liliek Mayasari, along with the board of directors of the five  defense industry SOEs namely PT DAHANA (Persero), PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT.
