PT DAHANA received an industrial visit which was organized by the Industrial Engineering Study Program of the Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia (UKRI). The visit was led by Head of UKRI Deputy Chancellor 4 Bureau Irman Hariaman and welcomed by DAHANA’s SM Legal & Corporate Communication, Juli Jajuli at DAHANA’s Central Management Office (Campus) in Subang on Monday, March 20 2023.

In his remarks, Mr Jajuli described about the brief history of DAHANA which started with the “Menang” project of the Republic of Indonesia Air Force which further developed to become DAHANA today. Previously, DAHANA had a factory and office in Tasikmalaya, but due to various reasons, especially limited land, DAHANA decided to buy nearly 600 hectares of land in Subang regency for relocation.

“In Subang, we set up many kinds of explosives facilities, from factories to warehouses, and is currently the area with the most complete facilities in ASEAN. With environmental commitment in mind, DAHANA’s office building was constructed in a green building certificate and is one of the first generations of buildings to receive a platinum level certificate from GBCI,” said Mr Jajuli.

Mr Jajuli claimed that, in view of the mining world, DAHANA’s products are very popular with the consumers. With its Total Explosive Solutions service that serves the entire blasting business process, DAHANA is able to compete in the Indonesian mining market. Some of DAHANA’s products are even regularly exported to consumers in the Asia Pacific region.

Apart from that, in the beginning of 2022, DAHANA  joined the Indonesian defense industry holding DEFEND ID which has the goal of becoming an engine for the realization of the independence of the national Defense and Security Equipment and Tool (Alpalhankam), where DAHANA is specially tasked with meeting the needs for explosives for all parts of Indonesia’s Army needs.

“On behalf of the management of PT DAHANA, I welcome to the PT DAHANA Campus. This campus is not a university, but an extension of DAHANA’s Central Management Office. However, the philosophy of the campus prevails because DAHANA Subang often has guests with various backgrounds studying explosives,” said Mr Jajuli.

After receiving a presentation at the DAHANA Campus Smart Room, the 30 UKRI students had the opportunity to visit the Energetic Material Center (EMC) area and see first-hand the process of making explosives at DAHANA’s factory.

“We hope that UKRI will be able to have the opportunity to explore collaboration with DAHANA in the field of industrial research. The purpose of this industrial visit to DAHANA is for students to learn about the application of knowledge gained on campus in the industrial world, including the defense industry,” said Mr Hariaman.
