In order to increase the student’s knowledge in industry, especially in the oil and gas field industry, students of the Chemical Engineering D-III Study Program class of 2021 Politeknik Negeri Bandung (POLBAN) visited the PT DAHANA High Energy Material Center. The students were welcomed by the Senior Manager for Corporate Services, Ogi Nugraha at the DAHANA Campus, Subang, on Friday, August 19, 2022.
In his speech, Ogi expressed his gratitude for Polban students’s visit. He said that DAHANA Campus is an open house for academics, researchers, and practitioners in which they can learn things related to explosives, ranging from the manufacturing process to its application.
“We welcome the students and the accompanying lecturers from the Politeknik Negeri Bandung the Campus of Indonesia’s explosives mecca. Hopefully this visit can add insight and knowledge about the industry, especially those related to chemistry,” said Mr Nugraha.
Mr Nugraha added that currently DAHANA has the latest factory, namely the elemented detonator factory which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in a series of launching the SOEs Defense Industry holding DEFEND ID. Apart from that, DAHANA is also speeding up the construction of an Ammonium Nitrate factory which is expected to boost the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of DAHANA’s products.
Meanwhile, Polban student supervisor, Gatot Subiyanto explained, the visit of 31 students from the 2021 batch to DAHANA was intended to take a closer look at the production process, materials and product analysis, quality control, and waste treatment.
“This time I have come with the third semester chemical engineering students. I would like them to see the facilities that DAHANA has,” he said.
DAHANA is an explosives company that owns the most complete facilities in the ASEAN region with various kinds of explosives factories established in the Energetic Material Center area in Subang. There are also other facilities such as warehousing, waste treatment, to the destruction of explosives.
DAHANA, that has decades of good reputation in serving commercial explosives DAHANA and puts forward the dual-use system concept, is also reliable in producing military explosives, such as Bomb P Series, a series of Indonesian Defense Rockets, propellants, Weapons Against Tanks, Smokeless Rockets, to the latest is developing a Kamikaze drone named Rajata.
