Defense Industry State-owned Enterprises (SOE’s) Corporate Social And Environmental Responsibility (CSER) institution held a ‘Creative Preneurship Training for SMEs in the Pandemic Era’. This virtual training was attended by fostered partners of each Defense Industry State-Owned Enterprises on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. This training is part of an effort to allow SMEs of the fostered partners to develop and advance even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Defense Industry SOEs is committed to sustainable improvements of the management by coaching, and mentoring fostered partners to improve the quality of fostered partners’ businesses performance. According to Krisna Cahyadianus, the Chief Executive of the activity and Corporate Secretary of PT Pindad (Persero), said this activity is a way to help the SMEs of the fostered partners to develop.
“This is part of the ongoing efforts of the Defense Industry SOEs to assist the fostered partners to become better, move higher and go international,” said Krisna.
Also attending the virtual event were Assistant Deputy of Social and Environmental Responsibility of Ministry of SOEs Agus Suharyono, Director of Finance and Human Resources of PT Dahana (Persero) Asmorohadi, Director of General and Human Resources of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) Sukatwikanto, and CSER officials of each Defense Industry SOEs. This event is a form of collaboration between CSERs of PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero), PT Dahana (Persero) and PT PAL Indonesia (Persero).
Asmorohadi in his speech wished that the participants taking part in the training could be motivated in developing their business with inputs from the resource persons during the training.
“Hopefully the training that we are holding today can help our fostered partner MSME actors to grow and develop together, remain enthusiastic and keep moving in spite of the unfavorable situation resulting from the outbreak of Covid-19,” said Asmorohadi.
The same thing was conveyed by the Assistant Deputy of CSER of of the Ministry of SOEs, Agus Suharyono. Agus pointed out that maintaining a business in the current of the COVID-19 pandemic is not very easy, however if they help and contribute to each other, he is sure everybody can survive the difficult condition.
“Hopefully the presence of the SOEs’ CSER program can help develop MSMEs and improve the performance quality of the fostered partners,” said Agus Suharyono.
Delivering Solutions
The training session offered presentations from three different speakers with three different topics. Mutia Tri Satya, S.Sos., M.Sc., MSM., CT. delivered material under the theme of Entrepreneurship through the Social Media; Dr. Hanifah. SE., Ak., CA., M.Si., QIA., CACP., CAPM., CAPF. gave some ideas for simple bookkeeping; and Dr. Ayi Tejaningrum. SE., MT. talked about motivation in entrepreneurship.
Mutia Tri Satya shared her tips to increase sales by utilizing social media. According to Mutia, one of the challenges for business actors during the current Covid-19 pandemic is the decline in income due to the decreased of people’s purchasing power.
“Increasing sales can be attempted by expanding promotions through the social media, that is by taking advantage of new consumer trends who tend to get easy and practical shopping,” said Mutia.
To attract potential consumers and to make sure they check out our social media and our merchandise, it is a good idea to use photos and product display in an attractive way and with relevant information that is easily understood by potential consumers.
“Make sure you look for other products that have the potential to increase our sales, follow the market’s interest in a product,” said Mutia.
In the next session, Hanifah taught the participants some lessons on the importance of income bookkeeping for better business performance, namely by benefitting from using the Lamikro application developed by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
“Many MSME business actors underestimate the importance of financial bookkeeping which actually is required to see see the profit and loss of the business and plan our business development in the future,” explained Hanifah.
During the final, the participants received motivational entrepreneurship encouragement in from Ayi Tejaningrum. Ayi explained that many factors affect a person’s success in doing business. The most important factor is our consistency and happiness in running the business.
