PT DAHANA is again trusted to help accelerate the construction of National Strategic Projects (PSN), one of which is the Leuwikeris Dam which is intended for imprmanagement of food and water security in Ciamis and Tasikmalaya Regencies, West Java. The Leuwikeris Dam project is targeted for completion in 2023.
PT DAHANA’s Director of Operations, Bambang Agung said he is optimistic that the construction of the dam can meet the targets set by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. He has also prepared an experienced team to accelerate the construction of the project.
“With all the experience that DAHANA’s people possess in various dam projects, we are optimistic that we can complete all tasks on time,” said Mr Agung.
By virtue of Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2020, the Leuwikeris Dam is included as one of the National Strategic Programs for Water Resources. The dam is targeted to be capable of supplying 45.35 million cubic meters of water to irrigate an area of 11,216 hectares in Ciamis, Tasikmalaya and Cilacap regencies.
Apart from that, the Leuwikeris Dam can also help supply 845 liters of raw water per second, reducing the potential for flooding to 450.02 cubic meters/second. The dam is also claimed to be a potential source of electricity for hydropower and as new tourism destinations, groundwater conservation, and fisheries.
DAHANA as a state-owned company engaged in the explosives industry got the blessings from the National Strategic Project. Apart from operating at the Leuwikeris Dam, DAHANA is also involved in accelerating the construction of the Pamukkulu Dam in South Sulawesi, the Sadawarna Subang Dam and the Cipanas Sumedang Dam in West Java, and the Tugu Trenggalek Dam in East Java.
Previously, theMinister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, while meeting with DAHANA’s board of directors last January, hoped that Dahana’s drilling and blasting methods and technology could accelerate the infrastructure development process, especially those carried out by BUMN Karya to make sure that the results of the development could be immediately utilized by the people.
Mr Hadimuljono also explained that the collaboration between the Government and SOEs is the mandate of President Joko Widodo. To optimize the Domestic Component Level, he will also continue to support domestic construction companies requiring blasting work to use DAHANA’s services.
