SUBANG, October 14, 2022. PT DAHANA along with Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Research and Development of High Energy Materials. The MOU was jointly signed by the Director of Technology and Development of PT DAHANA Suhendra Yusuf RPN and Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D. Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and ITS Alumni at the DAHANA CAMPUS Subang on Friday, October 14, 2022.

This collaboration is a follow-up to the  RISPRO INVITASI LPDP research program on EDB FEAR 70 entitled Development of Extruded Double Base (EDB) Propellants for Folding Fin Aerial Rocket (FFAR) Fuel. This said research will be carried out in three years conducted by cross-scientific researchers at ITS Surabaya.

In his speech, Mr Yusuf said that research and innovation have become a part of every industry, especially DAHANA. He also welcomed the collaboration that would be carried out with ITS. According to Mr Yusuf, the collaboration is perfect to realize the independence of the national Main Weapon System (Alutsista).

“Kampus DAHANA is short for Kantor Manajemen Pusat DAHANA. It is considered to be a place to learn and this is where we conduct research and development of high-energy materials,” said Mr Yusuf.

Mr Yusuf added that PT DAHANA is ready to provide continuous support to make sure that the research process can be the breath of every industrial process, especially at DAHANA. There are several products that urgently need to be independently produced by Indonesia, among which is the propellant. Therefore, DAHANA opens itself to collaborate with universities in carrying out research and development. Meanwhile, ITS will also provide support to DAHANA in terms of the use of research facilities and human resources.

Mr Pramujati also welcomed this collaboration. He said that the collaboration is an extraordinary opportunity and he hoped that there will be continuity between research conducted by intellectuals on campus and industrial progress in the country.

“We also wish to cooperate with industry partners to innovate and create products that are beneficial to people. Under such opportunity, it is also possible to develop and help postgraduate and doctoral complete their theses and dissertations with results of research that can be useful. Hopefully what we wish for can fulfill our goals, and hopefully we can proceed with other collaborations,” said Mr Pramujati.
