The National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla. The event was held on August 28, 2019 Puputan Margarana Field, Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar City which is also the venue for the 2019 Ritech Expo Exhibition.
The Vice President, familiarly known as JK, revealed that technology is not only the matter of IT world, but also innovations that increase added value.
“At present every progress is always based on science and technology. Technological knowledge does not mean that all is about IT, but of course, also innovation that can increase added value,” JK said in his remarks.
JK continued, in addition to added value, technology must also increase every effort of science and research that can provide higher efficiency than before. Technological innovation must also make things cheaper than ever before.
“Or (making something) more productive than before, that’s a better innovation,” he said.
After the Hakteknas commemoration event, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, accompanied by Minister of Research and Higher Education Mohamad Nasir and Bali Governor Wayan Koster, paid a visit to the exhibition booth. One of the booths visited was the Strategic Industry BUMN Pavilion which consisted of eight SOEs namely PT DAHANA (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Pal Indonesia (Persero) , PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) and PT Inka (Persero).
JK mingled and greeted each company, including PT DAHANA (Persero). JK was welcomed by the Manager of Public Relations and Institutions of PT DAHANA (Persero) July Jajuli who explained DAHANA’s products.
“I already know DAHANA. Explosive Manufacturer, right?” said JK smiling. JK also gave encouraging words that SOE’s Strategic Industry must continue to advance and develop with higher competitiveness.
RITECH EXPO 2019 is a series in the Hakteknak event. The exhibition, which featured a variety of innovations from both Institutions and universities, lasted from 25-28 August 2019. The presence of RITECH EXPO 2019 in Bali was welcomed enthusiastically by the community as can be seen from the enthusiastic visit of students and the community during the exhibition.
