The year 2018 almost came to an end when PT DAHANA (Persero), a State-Owned Enterprise producing explosives, received another Proper award from West Java Environment Office. The award was held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Hotel el Royale, Bandung, in which DAHANA obtained Blue rank from Proper.
Proper, a program that evaluates companies’ performance in the environment management, is an embodiment of the government’s supervision of stakeholders in improving the commitment in environmental conservation.
This Proper’s Blue rank is the umpteenth time for DAHANA. Since 2013, DAHANA, domiciled at Subang District, has been receiving Blue rank from Proper, as stated by Akhryan Eka Putra during his attendance at Proper Awarding Night of 2017-2018 period in Bandung.
“Alhamdulillah, this year DAHANA is still entrusted with Blue rank. This is the umpteenth time of Proper’s Blue since 2013,” Akhryan explained to Dfile.
He also said that this Blue rank achievement has been known to him since October as West Java Environment Office had submitted temporary report with Blue rank. This achievement is, as he stated, met the previous year’s target.
“We indeed has put the Blue rank as a target, and we are keeping the target for the next year too as it is related to many aspects that other companies have yet facilitated,” Akhryan explained.
“Proper’s Blue tells us that DAHANA has implemented environment management as required,” he added.
Proper’s ranking includes several different ranks, namely black, red, blue, green, and gold. To gain this award, not only has DAHANA submitted quarterly report, but it also conducted audit by Ministry of Environment & Forestry (KLHK).
“A few things that we always report include B3 waste management, exhaust gas emissions management, and liquid waste management. Everything is reported online,” Akhryan concluded. (Sya)
