Vice Admiral Agus Setiadji, S.I.P., M.A. Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 made an official visit to the explosives-producing company, PT DAHANA (Persero) in Subang Regency.

The visit to DAHANA was his first official visit following his appointment as Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense in February, and President Commissioner of PT DAHANA (Persero) on April 22, 2019.

His arrival to DAHANA was welcomed by the President Director of PT DAHANA (Persero) Budi Antono and other directors and was introduced to DAHANA Central Management Office (Campus) environment, along with products of by DAHANA.

During his opening remarks, Agus Setiadji claimed that he was familiar with explosives or bombs as he was once in charge of managing the area of the explosives warehouse. “I am familiar wit explosives, because I used to manage explosives warehouses, when I was Chief of Arsenal in Madura,” explained the former Head of the Defense Ministry’s Defense Facility Agency.

He also said about the most important thing for the explosives management area includes how to secure it, “So at the beginning of my arrival here, the thing I asked about DAHANA was about how safety is practiced here,” Agus said in his speech.

During his visit to DAHANA, he inspected several locations in the Ring 1 area of the Energetic Material Center (EMC), including the Nitroglycerine Plant in one of the factories initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Research and Development, and the Non-Electronic Detonator Factory.

On this occasion, in addition to reviewing the facilities and production processes of the Non-Electrical Detonator assembly, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense had the opportunity to test the quality of detonating Non-Electric Detonators. Witnessed by DAHANA officials and Ministry of Defense Officials, Agus Setiadji also had the chance to become a blaster and successfully blasted the quality test. President Director Budi Antono immediately handed over a certificate of appreciation to Agus Setiadji as the Honorary Blaster.
During a visit to the DAHANA Subang area, Agus witnessed how DAHANA’s seriously manages its security. “I see DAHANA is very serious in managing its security system, this is very important,” he said.

As a new official within PT DAHANA (Persero), Agus Setiadji sincerely hoped that DAHANA would continue to develop into a healthy and independent company and significantly contribute to the country.

“DAHANA must be a very healthy and independent State-owned Enterprise. The Company is also expected to realize the independence of national programs, the independence of defense equipment, one of which is the independence of explosives, “he explained.

“We know that in various countries in the world countries which have the high independence in explosives are the fastest growing countries. Therefore, it is my hope that the vision and mission proclaimed by DAHANA will become the forerunner for us in the future to develop explosive independence,” he concluded. (sya)
